NICO: Noble Indigenes of Checkpoint Organisation was first started as an association of indigenous children whom were born or raised between the 80’s and 90’s in Checkpoint (now known as Kambia 2), in Kambia District.
Owing to the zest and determination to contribute to the growth and development of the community, the general membership thought it right to transform from an association with limited scope in terms of development, to an organisation with thematic areas. Our initiatives advocate in the areas of Education, Health and Wellbeing, Agriculture, Women, Children and Youth empowerment, as well as promoting Social and Cultural advancements.
Our core values as an organisation therefore include, but not limited to : humanitarian services in the communities we support.
Our organisation’s primary aim is to simply give back to the Checkpoint community through our projects and initiatives. However, our secondary intentions are by and large to help the district of Kambia as a whole, to undergo a transformative and developmental change. We are mindful that our organisation’s initiatives may well become far-reaching and beneficial to Sierra Leone as a nation.
